Chandni Bar received the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues as well as the Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress awards conferred by the then President of India A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
Chandni Bar also won the Best Film at Zimbabwe International Film Festival and Technical Award for Best Background Music Score at Moscow International Film Festival.
